One of our own has been granted a role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Congratulations, S, in South Carolina, do well. Also, earlier this week, one of my brothers celebrated a birthday! Happy birthday, Brian! Spring is here, singers! Please keep in mind that as spring begins anew and allergies start to afflict us, some medicines are not good for singing while taking. A good example of this is aspirin. It thins the blood and can cause (in severe cases) vocal hemorrhaging. I simply make it a point to take it very easy when taking medicine. Besides, if you feel the need to take medicine to ease an affliction, it’s probably most prudent to rest as well. Practice well and sing beautifully! D.F.
I have two students I’d like to congratulate today: G, in New Jersey, for making it past the first round in the American Idol auditions, and S. in South Carolina, I received a video recording yesterday of your performance in The Magical Land of Oz and I couldn’t have been more proud! To all my students, keep up the great work! D.F.
It seems spring is on its way. The weather is warming, jobs around the yard are presenting themselves and it seems the grass wants to get started. I know we still have some cold weather remaining this season, though. Make sure you try your best to stay healthy! If you have a cold, or your voice is suddenly hollering at you every time you attempt to use it, try some ginger tea. It’s difficult to drink when you start drinking it but, it grows on you and is very good for so many things in the body. Of course, there is always the abundant use of vitamin C and a nap and please don’t forget that vitamin D (the sun is our most abundant source) is very helpful for overall health. Good luck and stay healthy! Also, I’m very proud to welcome the newest voice studio member, C, from California, welcome!!! We’re very excited to have you! 🙂 D.F.
