My audition for Sarasota went quite well. However, I was offered no callback. Perhaps the next audition I will leave them no choice save to pick me. What stuck out most to me was that I was NOT asked to sing “Ah! Mes amis,” with all those high-C’s, despite having it on the list for them. I’m sure they had their reasons. I am quite grateful they heard my audition, though. On to the next audition! D.F.
Saturday’s fund raising concert for Zephyr Vocal Ensemble was well attended and a splendid concert! The good people, my colleagues of Zephyr, really gave a solid performance that was wonderful for all ages and musical tastes. My congratulations go out to all of them! D.F.
Tomorrow brings me to New York City for an audition for Sarasota Opera. I am very excited. Please say a little prayer that I do well! Saturday is the Zephyr fund raiser that I will be performing in. We are off to a good start with the reservations we have for the event thus far. I know it will be a great show and it will have free desserts and coffee. D.F.
We now have students spanning five states and two time zones-VERY exciting! This week has brought a flurry of activity including an audition and a new performance. I will be returning to my Alma Mater to perform as an alumni for the music department’s 50th anniversary later this fall! Stay tuned! D.F.
